It has gained popularity in recent years for its ability to reduce swelling, promote detoxification, and enhance overall well-being.

What happens during a Pressotherapy session?

Initial Consultation: Before your 1st pressotherapy session, you will have an initial consultation. During this consultation, you will fill in your  your medical history, current health condition, and any specific concerns or goals you have for the treatment. It is essential to be honest and open about your health to ensure that Cryo Solihull can offer you the best treatment possible.

Preparation: Once you’re ready for the session, you will be wearing or you will change into cotton socks, a long sleeve cotton top and cotton leggings/joggers.

The pressotherapy session takes place in a private treatment room, please note only the client having the treatment can be present as here at Cryo Solihull there is no room for additional guests.

You will lie down on a comfortable treatment table, Sandy will apply specialized garments or sleeves to the target areas.

The sensation and duration

These garments will have multiple air chambers that will be inflated sequentially to apply pressure to different parts of the body.  Some clients describe the sensation as having your blood pressure taken on the different body parts.

As the air chambers inflate and deflate, you’ll feel a gentle squeezing or pulsing sensation around the treated areas.

The pressure applied is can be adjusted if needed and I will be in the room behind my room divider screen, whilst the treatment is taking place to ensure you are comfortable and at ease throughout the treatment, most clients fall asleep and don’t even notice I am there.  Soothing music will be played in the background and sometimes clients want to talk throughout the treatment too and that too is absolutely fine – it is your treatment so which ever you choose is absolutely fine, just let me know.

A typical pressotherapy session lasts around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the specific treatment plan.  Please note if you are having these sessions to aid weight management then up to 4 sessions a month are recommended.  Packages are available to purchase too.

After the session, the therapist remove the garments, and you’ll be encouraged to drink water to aid in the detoxification process.  Please bring some water with you.

You might notice immediate improvements, such as reduced swelling or increased lightness in your limbs.  Most clients find it a nice and relaxing treatment and enjoy the session.

However, for long-term benefits, multiple sessions are often recommended.

To achieve optimal results, consistent follow-up sessions are advised.

Depending on your specific needs and goals, and also, maintaining a healthy lifestyle with proper hydration, regular exercise, and a balanced diet can complement the effects of pressotherapy.  There is after care to follow and please note results vary for each individual client.

Pressotherapy is a safe and effective treatment that offers a range of benefits, from reducing swelling and cellulite to promoting relaxation and overall well-being.

By knowing what to expect during a pressotherapy session, you can approach the treatment with confidence, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for your body and mind.
