Hollywood Waxing Blog: What to expect at a Hollywood Waxing appointment

A wax consultation will be done on your first visit.

It is important you are honest with your therapist.

As there are some conditions and medications which will mean the waxing can not be carried out.  Please note if you are under 3 months pregnant or classed as a high risk pregnancy we are not insured to carry out this service.

Please allow your hair to be at least 8mm in growth.  Avoid shaving or do not remove any hair by trimming it prior to the appointment as this will affect your waxing growth cycle.

The normal waxing growth cycle for hair to catch up with the full waxing procedure can take up to 6 to 8 waxes.

This is before the hair starts to grow back together in one cycle.

If you have previously shaved then you may see stubble come back as soon as 3 to 4 days.

So please bear this in mind, if you are not a regular waxer.

Please arrive on time for your appointment, and ensure you are fresh and clean down below.

Please always allow at least 48 hours before a “Holiday Wax”, meaning 48 hours before you arrive at your destination.

As this allows the skin to settle down and the pores to close up.

Hollywood Waxing can be painful especially on the inner labia area (inner lip area), we do our best to keep you relaxed during the appointment, and you must follow your aftercare advice too.

It is always best to have some Aloe Vera or Sudo Creme at home to apply on the area for up to 24/48 hours should you need to.  This will help to calm the area down especially if you have got sensitive skin.

A regular waxing session is recommended every 4 to 6 weeks, in order to maintain good waxing results.

We are regularly asked this question “Does it hurt?” To be honest some clients have a high pain threshold than others.  So it depends on your pain tolerance levels, and a Hollywood Wax sometimes is more sensitive on the upper lip area and on the labia area too.  But please bear in mind this normally lasts for around 3/4 seconds than it is gone.  We work the area in sections hence making it more tolerable for our clients.
