Can Cryo Solihull carry out a Hollywood Waxing if I am pregnant?

No waxing is carried out within the 1st trimester.  After that providing there are no medical complications we can wax you in your 2nd and 3rd trimester.  Please note the skin becomes more sensitive during waxing.  Avoid having a Hollywood Wax if you have sensitive skin.

It is my 1st Hollywood Wax and I feel nervous?

Your waxing therapist will put you at ease.  You have to fill in a waxing consultation card when you 1st arrive.  The therapist will explain everything to you and then leaves the room.  You are to take off all your clothing from the bottom half off your body.  Use the wipes and bin liner provided, to clean yourself in the entire area.  And place the couch roll on top of you once you lie onto the couch.

Hollywood Waxing F.A.Q'S How the hair growth cycles:

Anagen: The Growth Stage

The first stage of hair growth is the Anagen Stage. This is the stage of the cycle where new hair is produced. Approximately 85% of all the hair on the body will be in the growth stage at one time. Since most of the hair on the body is in the Anagen Stage at the same time, it makes it the perfect time in the hair growth cycle to wax.

Catagen: The Regression or Falling Out Stage

The Catagen Stage is the second stage in the hair growth cycle. In this stage, the hair shaft grows upward and detaches itself from the bulb. Once the hair has detached itself from the bulb, its also gets cut off from the blood supply. This means that the hair no longer receives any nutrients or pigment. This is the mean reason why hair in this stage looks dull and unhealthy. Only 2 to 3% of the body's hair will be at this stage at any given time.

Telogen: The Final or Resting Stage

This is the stage in the hair growth cycle when hair is at its fullest size. In this stage, hairs are completely erect in the follicle, allowing the hair to show above the skin's surface. Hair is more likely to either shed or fall out during this stage. Only 15% of the body's hair will be in this stage at any given time.

It can take anywhere from 4 to 13 weeks for the hair to grow from the dermal papilla (the base of the hair follicle) to the surface of the skin.

Have you ever felt a little leftover stubble after getting waxed?

That's because some of the hairs left behind were still in the early Anagen Stage and not long enough to be removed from waxing. With regular waxing every 3 to 4 weeks, you are more than likely to get your hair on the same growing cycle, allowing for optimal waxing results.

Hair grows in the above 3 stages and it can take up to 4 waxing treatments before all of the hair is on the same growth cycle, hence they all come out together. Your first wax may not remove all the hair, it may last only one week, it may last up to three – it just depends on your own genetics, how recently and often you’ve shaved, and how well you do at preparing the skin before the wax and taking care of the skin between your treatments.

Don’t be discouraged if your hair doesn’t stay gone too long the first few times. The more you wax the longer it will last.

However, if your last hair removal was shaving, your first wax post shaving will not last as long. Please don’t shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams in between waxing appointments as this interrupts the hairs natural growth cycle!
